Brochures

A lot of organizational web sites are nothing more than online static brochures, which is unfortunate.  Printed, 3-fold, single-topic brochures are cheap and easy to produce, and are very useful --- particularly at exhibits and/or conferences.  Registration brochures for conferences are the most common.  The big issue is determining whether the design should be a self-mailer (no envelope) or included with other materials or distributed on site.  Color and design and important elements of a good brochure because they attract attention, but the content is still more important.  If you get too cute, then you lose the reader who may not be able to interpret your message.  Full color is now more practical even for short print runs because of the new technologies.
